Born in Gemayzeh Lebanon, Chef Charles Azar started his pastry career through every route but direct.

At a young age, he became fascinated with the art of pastry and chocolate, proving that a strong background in gastronomy can fuel a life-long passion.

After achieving his baccalaureate followed by a Hotel and Restaurant management degree in Beirut, Chef Azar set off on a tour of France to learn and practice his passion.

As he continued to work his way up in the pastry world, it was his encounters with Meilleurs Ouvriers de France that were the deciding factors for the continuation of his career. The experience he gained allowed him to find the love of a job well done.

Their advice and expertise gave him the push he needed to achieve their same stature.

During this time, Charles Azar also prepared for many competitions and attended various professional trainings, in order to grow and acquire the basis that would allow him to express himself fully.

Azar joined and quickly made his mark on our capital’s hotels scene.

He developed a diverse set of skills working nationally and internationally over the last 25 years in this industry.

Chef Azar was the Executive Pastry Chef at Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts-Beirut,the Executive Pastry Chef for Intercontinental Phoenicia Beirut, Intercontinental Le Vendôme Beirut,Habtoor Grand hotel, Metropolitan Palace hotel, worked in Kuwait as well at Lenôtre Paris, Relais et châteaux and many more.

Shortly thereafter, he turned his attention to the world of instruction, transmitting without reserve since 2005 till now, his experience, knowledge and the love of his craft to his students who have come from worldwide and have even included pastry chefs from the finest culinary establishments. It didn't take long for this to become his vocation.

Chef Azar has also been involved in the organization of many national and international competitions.

Currently , Chef Azar is a Master Consultant Chef at ” Charles Azar Consultancy Services®” working on new creative concepts and projects as a “Private Consultant” for Lebanese and worldwide clients.

Since 2017 Chef Azar is Co-Founder for Le Flocon Artisan Glacier, the first artisanal Ice Cream concept in the region based on all natural ingredients.

Chef Azar has made a great impact since he began to appear on television in April 2009 and has rarely been off screen since Hitting big record viewing figures with MTV Lebanon’s hugely successful TV pastry show (Well Done) he now has further plans for new show ideas to add to his list.

Chef Charles has guested on a number of programs, including Top Chef Middle East on LBC & MBC Channel and has made many live appearances.

In between his World Titles, Azar gives many demonstrations of cookery each year at annual huge events like ”Beirut Cooking Festival”, Etoile Culinary school in Greece, “Horeca Trade show “–the annual meeting place for Hospitality and Foodservice industries – in Jordan ,KSA, Kuwait and Beirut for the last 10 years or so,where he had the honor of being a judge and a member of the organizing committees.

He is one of few highly accomplished Pastry Chefs who holds the distinction as the THREE –times winner of prestigious place rankings at the “ World Pastry Cup” at Lyon-France.

He captained and trained our Lebanese Team in 2003, 2005 and 2009 to the world pastry cup. member at the “Cercle des chefs”,a representative of Lebanon in “Lo Mejor de la Gastronomia 2010 “ and a judge at the “World Chocolate Masters” competition in France for many years.

On the 25th of December 2010 and 2014, Chef Azar perfectly executed Tony Ward’s creation inspired by the finest Haute Couture. The profits went to associations that took care of poor children in Beirut’s suburbs.

Being highly recognized throughout his career for various international awards,the Chef’s most favourite awards was at AUT’s tribute to Star Leb Chef on November 28th,2011 under the patronage of Ministry of Tourism

and at“Land of Creators Foundation ” to honor the lebanese creators on July 23rd,2020 under the patronage of Ministry of Culture

And on the 17th of November 2012, Chef Azar was chosen to lead “Four Seasons Beirut Task Force team” for the Grand Opening of “FS Baku Azerbaijan”.

And for his tremendous efforts in the culinary sector for years, he was named by the top French chefs to be The President for the“ Academie Nationale de Cuisine ” in Lebanon, Middle East and Gulf.

Chef Azar was chosen to collaborate with International renowned stylist designers such as Tony Ward, Abed Mahfouz, Ramy Kady, Jean Louis Sabaji and Caroline Lang to execute their creations in chocolate dress at Salon Du Chocolat Beirut.

In August 2007, “Le Flocon Artisan Glacier” was born were you can find all the creations and “les Brise-Glace” signature by Chef Charles Azar.

On the 16th of November 2017, Chef Azar collaborated with the acclaimed Lebanese artist, sculptor and poet Rudy Rahme to execute the biggest chocolate sculpture in the Middle East (650 kgs the fire dance).
